Lil Tjay and his band Upchurch are going on tour with the Strokes, performing songs from their debut album, The Strokes: A New Beginning.
Upchurch will be playing three nights at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and another two nights at Suncorp Stadium in Melbourne’s south, with the final night at Suntec Stadium.
Upchuck confirmed the announcement on Twitter, saying “My eyes are still blinding by the light of the sun.
I’m happy to be back in Melbourne for Upchurch.”
Upchucks performance will be the first time the band has played together for the Stroke.TJ’s album was released in 2015 and the Strokis debut album is now available on CD, vinyl and on vinyl, vinyl reissue and CD.
Upochuck said the show would be his first solo tour in Australia.
“The Strokes have always had an affinity for Australia and the Sunshine Coast,” he said.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing how the show goes.”
Hopefully the band can take a bit of time off, get some rest and see what it’s like there, and we can all get back together and have a great time.
