Jones Beach Amphitheatre is now the latest venue to get a full-blown music festival, with the opening of the festival, The Jones Beach Music & Arts Festival, scheduled for August 1.
The festival has been named the UK’s Best Outdoor Music Festival by Live Nation, and will bring together artists and festivals across the country, with events taking place at venues including The O2, The Royal Albert Hall, The National and the Royal Albert Gallery.
The concert is being run by the UK music industry trade body the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which announced the name on Thursday.
“This is the largest music festival in the UK and we’re proud to say that the industry has stepped up to the challenge and delivered this incredible event,” said Simon Hixson, director of events at IFPI.
“This year’s Jones Beach Festival will bring an unprecedented mix of entertainment, community and social engagement to the heart of the UK, with thousands of fans on hand to experience the best in music from the UK.”
Jones Beach Music& Arts Festival has the largest single day ticket market in the world and has been voted as the UK Best Outdoor Concert by LiveNation, beating the likes of Coachella and Lollapalooza.
